Last post was a brief introduction to this blog and a bit about me. In this post I’ll go into a more detail about my areas of expertise, specialization, and this special neighborhood I serve. We live in a dynamic and exciting place, with so many opportunities to thrive. My intention for this blog is to be a resource for people currently living in the ParkFairfax area, or interested in moving to our neighborhood.
Why Marlene Hall®?
As a 3rd generation Northern Virginia Realtor®, the houses, neighborhoods, and communities where we live, are in my bones. With so much transient movement in the D.C. area, finding natives with a deep connection to this housing market here is not that common. I love helping people find the perfect home to buy or rent, as well as sell/ rent their home.
My experience as an Air Force officer is what informs my high level expertise with military transitions. I bring my professional designation as a Military Relocation Specialist to every service member I help. For those who’ve never served in the military, it may be difficult to understand the unique challenges facing this special population. That is why they need a real estate professional who knows, understands, and has particular resources suited specifically to them. Myself being highly educated (UVA and Georgetown with 3 masters degrees) is also a tremendous advantage when navigating the complex world of real estate transactions. My military background is also helpful when promoting my clients’ listings, for their best outcome.
Why ParkFairfax?
The Washington D.C. area is rich with history, and this neighborhood is no exception. Built in the 1930’s and 40’s as government agencies were developing rapidly, the urban housing market couldn’t keep pace. Historic residents include future U.S. Presidents Richard M. Nixon and Gerald R. Ford. These homes, originally designated as apartments, have been serving the housing needs in the Nation’s Capitol for generations. Now the units are condominiums and many updates and upgrades have been added to enhance the desirability of this location.
The community includes 1,684 units on 132 acres in Alexandria, Virginia. The convenience of being near I-395, public transportation, and bustling areas like Shirlington, make this a very attractive living space for a wide variety of people. Residents don’t have to leave the neighborhood to enjoy swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness center, and kids’ playgrounds. It is well cared for with beautiful landscaping and shady wooded areas. Visitors include deer, foxes, squirrels and more!
The level of Community at ParkFairfax is impressive. The homeowner’s association monthly newsletter routinely announces local news of interests, board meeting notes, updates, and helpful home resources. There are a lot of activities for a variety of interests and lifestyles, such as a book club, January chili cook-off, live concerts in the summer by the pool with food, and more.
ParkFairfax is a wonderful place to live and I’m proud to serve the neighborhood with all their real estate needs. Because there is so much going on in this community, I will have a lot to share in the coming months. Please reach out for more information on how I can help you with your home transition. I am able to offer comps, contractors to fix up your home, and any other home-related advice!
